Real Life Machine

The Schield Bantam C-35 was introduced in the mid-1940s and quickly became one of the most successful compact cable excavators of its era. Weighing about 10 tons, it was offered as a crawler shovel, dragline, backhoe, and crane, making it exceptionally versatile for excavation, road construction, utility work, and material handling. Contractors appreciated its affordable price, dependable design, and ease of maintenance. More than 15,000 machines were produced before the Schield name disappeared following the company's 1961 acquisition.
