The Oliver 770 was manufactured from 1958 through 1967 as part of Oliver's popular three-digit tractor lineup, replacing the earlier Super 77. Powered by a 216-cubic-inch, six-cylinder engine, the 770 was available in gasoline, LP-gas, and diesel configurations. Diesel models produced approximately 47 PTO horsepower and were appreciated for their fuel efficiency, smooth operation, and dependable pulling power. The tractor featured Oliver's six-speed transmission with an optional Hydra-Power Drive, allowing operators to select additional working speeds without interrupting power delivery. Its narrow-front tricycle configuration was particularly useful for cultivating row crops such as corn and soybeans, while the tractor's versatile design made it suitable for plowing, planting, mowing, baling, and general farm work. Farmers valued the Oliver 770 for its comfortable operating platform, durable six-cylinder engine, and dependable performance. Today, the 770 remains a popular collectible among Oliver enthusiasts, recognized for its distinctive Meadow Green styling, classic streamlined hood, and important place in American agricultural history.
