Real Life Machine

The John Deere "Ice Cream Box" baler earned its nickname from its squared-off shape, which resembled old-fashioned ice cream freezers. Introduced during the 1950s, these PTO-driven balers produced uniform small square bales that were easy to stack, transport, and store. Equipped with an ejector, operators could automatically load bales into a trailing wagon, reducing manual labor and increasing efficiency during hay harvest. Their dependable performance and simple design made them popular on farms across North America.
