Introduced in 1971, the John Deere 4620 was a high-horsepower row-crop tractor designed for demanding agricultural work. It was powered by a 6-cylinder diesel engine producing approximately 135 PTO horsepower and was commonly used for tillage, planting, and pulling heavy implements. The 4620 featured John Deere's familiar green and yellow styling and a substantial chassis suited to large-scale farming. While many 4620 tractors were built with two-wheel drive, front wheel assist configurations provide additional traction by driving the front wheels as well as the rear wheels.
