Give your John Deere collection a recognizable Sound-Gard-era favorite with this 1/16 John Deere 4440 Tractor, Precision Series #17 by Ertl. The tractor's long green hood, yellow wheels, and enclosed cab capture the commanding look of Deere's classic row-crop workhorse. As a numbered Precision Series release, this model offers special appeal to collectors building a complete line of detailed Ertl tractors. Its substantial scale and familiar silhouette make it a natural centerpiece alongside vintage planters and tillage implements.
John Deere manufactured the 4440 from 1978 through 1982 as part of its 40 Series. Powered by a turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine, it delivered roughly 130 PTO horsepower and became one of the company's best-known row-crop tractors. The 4440 handled tillage, planting, grain-cart duties, and other demanding farm jobs. Its Sound-Gard cab improved operator comfort and reduced noise, while its rugged drivetrain earned a strong reputation for durability. The model remains highly regarded by farmers, restorers, and collectors.
