The International Harvester 7488 was the largest model in the Super 70 Series 2+2 family, developed during the final years before the Case IH merger. The tractor used a powerful diesel engine and articulated four-wheel-drive arrangement to pull large field implements. Unlike conventional articulated tractors, the 2+2 design located the engine in a long front section and the cab farther back, giving the machine a distinctive appearance. The Super 70 Series saw very limited production, and the 7488 became one of the most collectible International Harvester tractors because of its rarity and unusual engineering.
