The Ford 871 was part of the 801 Powermaster family introduced in the late 1950s. Its notable feature was the Select-O-Speed transmission, offering ten forward and two reverse speeds without a conventional clutch pedal for each shift. The tractor used a four-cylinder engine and was suited to cultivation, mowing, hauling and other general farm jobs.
