Introduced in 1964, the Ford 5000 became a popular mid-size tractor for mixed farming. Four-cylinder diesel and gasoline versions were offered, with later models delivering roughly 60–70 PTO horsepower. Farmers valued its versatility for plowing, baling and hauling. Ford’s Select-O-Speed transmission was an available option, allowing gear changes without conventional clutch shifting.
