Real Life Machine
Introduced in 1957, the Allis-Chalmers D-14 helped launch the company’s new D-Series tractor family. It used a four-cylinder gasoline engine and featured the Power Director hand clutch, which allowed operators to change between working ranges without stopping completely. Farmers used the D-14 for cultivating, planting, mowing and pulling implements. Early Series I tractors are recognizable examples of Allis-Chalmers’ late-1950s redesign.
