Steiger tractors originated in North Dakota, where brothers Douglas and Maurice Steiger developed powerful four-wheel-drive tractors to meet the needs of large farming operations. The Tiger became one of the recognizable models in the company's high-horsepower lineup. The Tiger ST450 was designed for demanding fieldwork and featured a Cummins diesel engine, an Allison powershift transmission, and a Safari cab. Its articulated four-wheel-drive configuration helped deliver traction and maneuverability while pulling heavy tillage equipment across large fields. Steiger tractors became well known for their substantial size, distinctive green finish, and ability to handle demanding agricultural jobs. The Tiger remains a notable model among enthusiasts of classic four-wheel-drive tractors.
